With an elevation of 3,812 metres (12,507 ft), lake Titicaca is the "highest navigable lake" in the world and the largest in South America.
The lake is located on the Andes on the border between Bolivia and Peru. Isla del Sol is one of the islands on the Bolivian side and tourism is the main source of income.
